HR Tip of the Month
Age Discrimination
Over 40 percent of the U.S. workforce will be eligible to retire by 2010. However, many of these workers will opt to stay in the workforce in some capacity. There are many benefits to this trend, such as retaining experienced and knowledgeable workers. But, this trend may also cause an increase in age discrimination lawsuits. Employees have grown more vocal in voicing complaints and more of them are taking those complaints to court. To protect your company and employees, you and all of the managers at your company need to understand age discrimination laws. Express Employment Professionals has created a variety of materials to help you understand the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and how to comply with it.
